Dress code and etiquette in Libya

Dress code in Libya differ from region to area. In cities, guys often wear t-shirts and shorts while women wear three quarter length trousers and skirts, t-shirts and long sleeves. There is no legal necessity to wear a head scarf, although international ladies may do so as a respect to local tradition. Libya has designated expat beaches where bathing suits are utilized. Outside of the larger cities, where foreigners are not seen often, the dress code is generally modest clothes. Long sleeves and full length skirts along with a light shawl are suggested for females visiting these regions
