The foreign investment sectors in Tanzania include the tourism sector, agriculture, trade, construction, mining and services. According to the World Investment Report, as reported by the United States Department of State, the foreign direct investment (FDI) flows to Tanzania showed an increment in 2017 from USD 938 million to USD 1.1 billion in 2018. The flows increased to 4.144 billion between March to November 2021 (Tanzania High Commission in Nairobi,
Kenya). The Tanzanian government has been establishing favourable conditions, and there has been a success in attracting FDI, as indicated by the FDI rise in 2012 to more than USD 1.1 billion, which is the highest in East Africa (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, 2015). The country has so far put any restrictions on the laws and regulations that prohibit or limit foreign investment control, and companies are typically shown to restrict their foreign participation.
